![]() ![]() What if a person ordering is either vegetarian or vegan? When we saw the bacon piece, it also made us think that may be the person who wrapped a bagel with bacon for someone else’s order, prepared our order too. What I also didn’t like is when we were waiting for our order to be prepared, I saw that a tray filled with bacon was placed right next to where the person was wrapping the bagels. We ordered 1 five cheese, Asiago and two everything bagels and in one of the wrapped bagels, a very small piece of bacon (third attached picture) was found, which isn’t acceptable especially as both I and my family are vegetarians. Everything bagel and five cheese are my fav! However, the service we received today wasn’t upto the mark. It has been a go to place both for me and my fiancé for bagels. There's isn't much décor but if paying less than $10 for a bowl of noodles piques your interest, the décor is the least of your worries.įantastic collection of bagels, no complaints at all for the quality of bagels that they serve. Next time you're in the neighborhood, give it a try. It's too bad they don't advertise the noodles more, or maybe they don't want to. If you don't like the mystery meats, go with the beef. The broth is a little thinner but they still give you enough noodles and meat (pig feet, shank, tendon, pork pate) to make it a good meal. These days, that's a deal in my book.Īs for the bowl of Bun Bi Hue itself, it's good. While not as rich and flavorful as before and not as good as other noodle places around Milpitas, the price is great.$8.50. I get it.Ī better deal in my opinion is the two noodle bowls they offer. Times are tough and it's hard to stay profitable these days. Sandwiches average $6 and for those folks who remember when sandwiches were $1 or $1.50.$6 is a lot. Think of it as an old school Vietnamese deli. It also offers a large selection of prepackaged lunch trays and a hot food section (to the right of the entrance) featuring some Vietnamese "greatest hits". Huong Lan Sandwiches is known for well, its sandwiches.Banh Mi to be exact. Overall, it was a great experience, we will surely be coming again! Last, it would be great if they can offer hot sauce on the side. The only thing I would like them to change is the size of green pepper put inside the enchiladas, it could have been smaller and spread evenly rather than putting big cubes of it inside. There are ample tables to sit outside and a few inside too. Their staff is so kind and humble, they greeted us and helped us pick the right options especially as we are vegetarians, plus if you are eating there, they will serve your order at your table, we loved their service. We also ordered a lime margarita which was amazing, a bit expensive but worth considering the taste and size that they offer for same. Also, they offer unlimited chips as complementary and other sauces on the side (all self serve). I must say the food was quality and the portions were generous as well as sufficient for two people to share. You can either get two or three enchiladas in a plate and the same goes with tacos, so we got three tacos and two enchiladas. We ordered a plate of vegetarian enchiladas and a plate of vegetarian tacos. ![]() This place was on our list to try out their food. ![]() If you see this place in passing and want that down home experience give this place a try!ĭelicious and authentic Mexican food. ![]() The huckleberry lemonade is off the hook and the food I ordered was really good too! The rest of the menu was a bit pricey but had a lot of options as you can tell from my photos. The rest of the staff was busy yet nice and chill. I was seen immediately and my food came out fast. The appearance was neat and clean not too crowded. However, I'm going to discount the fact that I was dressed in "relaxed" clothing ( I walked from my hotel room and decided to grab a bite while my room was getting cleaned) and the server was kinda young and may be a little new as the reason for that exchange. It was a great overall experience but I was greeted by a server who asked "May I help you?" Instead of asking if I was a party of one or just seating me which was weird, awkward and made me feel a little unwelcomed and the reason why this review gets 4 stars. It was my first time here and came in by myself on a Saturday between 2-4pm. The bear decor and newspaper article style menu is simply delightful and quite refreshing for those with Adirondack and No-Cal experience with nature and the great outback. This is definitely a North California staple and a one of a kind diner worth visiting! It's basically a local version of Denny's with log cabin upper mid-west vibes. ![]()
